Every merchant prefers a different rhythm of alerts. Your store sends a few different types of notifications — you can switch each one on or off so you only hear about what matters to you.
Open your notification preferences
Click your avatar in the top right of your dashboard, then Notifications. You will see three groups of switches — Order & store notifications, Email reports, and Platform updates — followed by a Save preferences button at the bottom.
Order & store notifications
- New orders — get a notification every time a customer places an order
- Customer messages — get alerted when a customer contacts you
- Inventory alerts — be reminded when a product is running low in stock
Email reports
- Weekly reports — a friendly summary every Monday with the past week's highlights
- Monthly reports — a more detailed breakdown of your sales and store performance
Platform updates
- Security alerts — recommended on, so you hear straight away about anything important to your account
- Marketing & tips — occasional ideas and product updates from us
Don't forget to save
Toggling a switch doesn't apply the change until you click Save preferences at the bottom of the page. The button stays in view as you scroll so you don't lose track of it.
Quiet but informed
If new-order alerts are overwhelming on a busy day, switch them off and lean on the weekly report instead. Your dashboard always shows the live numbers when you want to peek.
Frequently asked questions
Are these the same as customer notifications?
No. These settings only affect what you receive. Customers always get the order confirmations, shipping updates, and other messages your store sends them — those are managed separately under Store > Emails.
Do these settings affect my whole team?
Yes. Notification preferences are set at the store level, so what you switch on or off applies to everyone with access to your dashboard. If your team needs different rhythms, agree together and update them in one place.
Why is "Security alerts" recommended on?
Security alerts cover unusual sign-ins and important account events. Keeping them on means you'll hear about anything suspicious quickly — even if you've turned the rest off.
