Make your store ready for AI shoppers

Let AI shopping agents discover, recommend, and check out your products.

More and more shoppers are using AI assistants to help them find and buy things. AI commerce makes sure your products show up in those conversations, are easy for AI to understand, and can be checked out smoothly.

Why this matters

Imagine someone asking their AI assistant for "a soy candle that smells like a bookshop". You want your candle in that answer. AI commerce makes your product feed available to the AI assistants that power those experiences — without any extra work from you.

How AI commerce works

Open AI Commerce from your sidebar. The page has four tabs:

  • Overview — a setup checklist that walks you through what still needs to be done, plus traffic and order numbers once you are live
  • Feeds — the product feed that AI assistants read from, including any feed health notes
  • Settings — the required Privacy policy URL and Terms of service URL, optional Return policy URL, and a checklist of which product types can be sold through AI assistants
  • Products — a list of every product with a per-product AI Commerce toggle, so you can include or exclude items one at a time

Rolling out gradually

AI commerce is being switched on for stores in stages. If you do not see it in your dashboard yet, reach out to support — we can help let you know when it lands.

Get set up

  • Publish your Privacy policy and Terms of service — both are required by the AI platforms before checkout is enabled
  • In Settings, paste the Privacy policy URL and Terms of service URL (and Return policy URL if you have one)
  • In Settings, tick the eligible product types — pick the kinds of products you are happy for AI assistants to sell
  • In Products, switch on AI Commerce for each product you want to include (or leave one off to hide it)
  • Use specific, descriptive titles so an AI can tell what each product is
  • Add clear photos and fill in optional fields like color, size, and weight
  • Keep prices and stock up to date so AI assistants quote the latest details

What AI commerce does not do

  • Share your private customer or order data — only your public product catalog is exposed
  • Change your prices or policies — you stay in control of every detail
  • Replace your storefront — visitors who come from AI still land on your normal product pages

Your storefront still does the selling

When an AI agent sends a customer your way, they see the same beautiful product page you have built. The AI is the introduction; you and your store still do the closing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see how many sales came from AI assistants?

Yes. Once AI commerce is active for your store, the AI Commerce page shows traffic and sales from AI sources alongside your regular channels.

Will AI assistants always quote my prices correctly?

Because AI assistants read directly from your live store, prices, stock, and shipping are always current — what the AI sees is what your storefront shows.

Can I opt my store out completely?

Yes. The simplest way is to clear all the eligible product types in Settings, or switch off the per-product AI Commerce toggle on every product. Either way, nothing in your catalog will be offered to AI assistants.
